If your child has any symptoms that mimic Covid-19 I ask that your child remain home and not return to childcare until they are symptom free. This includes a reoccurring cough and constant runny nose. Any type of symptom that indicates your child is ill will be taken seriously and I will call for your child to be picked up should they show signs of illness while at childcare. Covid-19 symptoms per the CDC website include: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of smell or taste, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting and diarrhea. If your child will remain home due to an illness all regular rates will still apply. Initial: ________

Documentation will be needed for your child’s file from the doctor for clearance and the negative test results. I cannot ask for negative tests of any family members of children enrolled however for the safety of all of our families I ask that you please confirm family members of the child are also well after a mandatory closure. In the event of closure because of a confirmed case I will ask that half the normal daily rate will still be due. Initial: ________

Cleaning and disinfecting will be done frequently throughout the day. Including washing tables after each use and disinfecting hand rails and door knobs. Any mouthed toys will be placed immediately in the “Yuck Bucket” to be cleaned and disinfected at the end of each night.
At this time masks are not required in family childcare homes. Should this change we will do our best to practice keeping masks on. If you prefer your child wear a mask please send one with your child and I will do my best to ensure your child keeps it on throughout the day. All children are different while some can tolerate a mask all day long others can’t. Masks at childcares are also tough because they do not allow for children to read lips or see expressions. It’s important for children to view facial expressions for social emotional development. So, because of this if a mask is required, I will have a mask for myself that has a clear window so children can see these important expressions. I would encourage you to find a similar mask for your child if they do become required.
Social distancing is hard for young children because they need interaction. At this time, I do not require children to socially distance from each other. I will encourage children to give each other space and we will talk about what social distancing is and how to respect others who ask for space
At this time I still allow for us to use shared materials such as crayons, scissors, and markers. I will also allow for shared sensory materials such as sand and play dough. We will continue to wash our hands before and after use of any sensory materials like usual. More frequent hand washing will also be done throughout the day. Please sign and date where indicated and return to me as soon as you can. Covid-19 policies and procedures are subject to change while the State Department of Health and State Department of Children and Families rules and regulations change when new information about Covid-19 is made known and provided to t0hese departments. ______________________________________________________________________________ Signature Date
